I am working towards my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy at Lesley University, studying remotely from here in Eugene. In June 2020, I completed my B.A. in art with a minor in sociology at University of Oregon. I love art therapy in addition to traditional talk therapy because you don't have to be skilled in art to benefit from the creative process. (The process can be more important than the product!) As I know from my personal experience, the process of art-making can be healing and provide a means of self-discovery and understanding. I enjoy working with seniors, especially those living with Alzheimer's and dementia. I also have a background in suicide prevention and mental health advocacy, and I am passionate about helping others help themselves.
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, drawing and painting, and spending time with my dog, Milo.
