WELCOME TO WILLAMETTE SKY COUNSELING. I BELIEVE THAT FEELING WHOLE AND CONNECTED DESPITE HISTORY OR CIRCUMSTANCE IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE.
As your therapist, I will support and encourage you to explore your emotions, deepen insight, develop healthy communication patterns and integrate your thoughts, feelings and emotions in what you will hopefully experience as meaningful and challenging work. I enjoy working with clients who are thoughtful, sensitive and committed to their personal growth.
AREAS OF FOCUS
I work with individuals from different backgrounds, race, ethnicity, gender, sex, age, religion. The areas I may be of support to you might include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief & loss, career and major life transitions, as well as the mental health impacts of racism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of marginalization.
COUNSELING TECHNIQUES
As a level one Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) trained therapist, I work with the principles of Mind/Body/Spirit, Mindfulness and Presence, Non Violence and the wisdom of the body to to access and process traumatic and developmental experiences. SP is a holistic and evidence based approach that includes somatic, emotional and cognitive processing. I also integrate, CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction evidence based models into my practice.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In addition to clinical work, my professional background includes 15 years working in Communications for global technology corporations in San Diego and the The San Francisco Bay Area where I developed a profound awareness of the need for transparent communication, collaborative work spaces and social and emotional integration in the workplace. It is my aim to develop and encourage these objectives with clients and the team at WSky. While I bring a blend of academic and professional experience to inform my practice, it is perhaps my personal experience with therapy, and healing from parent suicide and loss during childhood that has led me to believe deeply in the potential of therapy, the therapeutic relationship, and empathy as a means for change.
EDUCATION CREDENTIALS
I earned my B.A. from St. Mary's College of Moraga, CA. with a focus on Communications. I earned my M.S. in Couples and Family Therapy from University of Oregon. I am an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor (C4284), Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
