Madeleine
Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
I believe that therapy can create a secure space in which to feel, explore, and grow. I believe that you make sense. Your feelings, thoughts, anxieties, strengths, and patterns of interaction all make sense given the life you have lived, and I believe that you are the expert on your own life. Many of us are stuck in old patterns and reactions that no longer serve us, and we will explore the areas of your life and relationships where you would like to see change, movement, or growth. I believe that humans are naturally inclined toward healing and growth, and that healing often takes place within the context of safe relationships. My goal is to build a warm, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel understood and comfortable enough to unpack what is causing pain or distress.
Grounded in a systemic framework, my approach is holistic and prioritizes the role that your context, environment, and relationships have on your experience. We will explore the important aspects of your life and identity, and the role they play in your life experience. I draw from Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, and incorporate art, mindfulness, somatics, and movement when appropriate.
I have experience working with people of all ages, and working with a variety of relationship configurations, including families and intimate partners/couples. I have worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings for over 10 years, and I enjoy working with youth and supporting parents and caregivers in building parenting skills and developing deeper connections between parents and children. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergence-affirming, and work from an anti-oppressive stance that values all the facets of your unique identity. All parts of you are welcome here.
