As a graduate of the Couples and Family Therapy Program at the University of Oregon, I offer therapy to individuals, couples, and families. My area-of-specialization is providing treatment to female identified individuals across the lifespan and working with couples and families. I operate under the systemic therapy lens with a focus in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Additionally, I have experience integrating CBT, ACT, expressive art therapy techniques, movement therapy techniques, play therapy, and somatic therapy interventions into my clinical practice. I view therapy as a collaborative process between client and therapist where the therapeutic process is flexible, experiential, and reflects what the client is looking for and what the client needs. I am LGBTQ allied and BIPOC allied. I have masters-level training in Trauma Informed Care, Medical Family Therapy, Intimate Partner Violence, Group Counseling, Addiction and Recovery, Relational Sex Therapy, Parent-Child Intervention Training, and much more.
Approach to Therapy My therapeutic style emphasizes themes of empowerment, agency, autonomy, self-esteem, and acknowledging societal norms and expectations that may be constraining someone from being the truest, most authentic version of themselves. I believe that all individuals contain the needed and necessary qualities and characteristics within themselves to achieve their desired goals and to accomplish personal growth. I want my clients to know that there are always ways in which to manage, cope with, recover from, heal from, and survive pain, and that suffering does not have to be permanent or lifelong. Using compassionate care, empathy, sensitivity, gentleness, and a strengths-based approach, I strive to create a warm and comfortable environment for clients where a safe and trusting atmosphere can lead to transformation, fulfillment, and evolution within oneself and their circumstances. Someone willing to take the necessary steps toward personal development should be applauded for their dedication to themselves, even when the journey may be personal, or uncomfortable, or vulnerable. I partner with my clients to empower, encourage, and esteem them to know their value, worth, potential, and capabilities to live and to lead strong, happy, healthy lives.
