Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Picture
I OFFER THERAPY THAT IS GROUNDED, RELATIONAL AND SPACIOUS ENOUGH TO HOLD THE COMPLEXITY OF YOUR LIFE. SO MUCH OF WHAT WE CARRY BEGAN AS A WAY TO SURVIVE, PROTECT, ADAPS, OR STAY CONNECTED. IN THERAPY, WE CAN EXPLORE HOW THOSE PATTERNS TOOK SHAPE AND CREATE MORE CHOICE I WHAT YOU WANT TO CARRY FORWARD.

AREAS OF FOCUS
I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting clients navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety, family-of-origin experiences, identity exploration, spirituality and faith, and meaning-making. My work is grounded in a systemic perspective, which honors the broader context of each client's relationships, identities, family history, work, community, and lived experience.

COUNSELING TECHNIQUES
My approach is relational, collaborative, systemic, and trauma-informed. I bring steadiness, curiosity, and openness to the therapy room, offering practical support while making space for complexity, meaning, and change.
With couples, I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy and tools from the Gottman Method to help partners understand recurring dynamics, access the emotions and needs beneath conflict, repair disconnection, and build trust, safety, and connection.

With individuals, I draw from Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and Brainspotting. Brainspotting is a brain- and body-based approach that can support trauma work, especially when experiences feel difficult to access or express through words alone.

Across my work, I support clients in exploring the stories, relationships, identities, and experiences that have shaped them, while also identifying strengths, possibilities, and preferred ways of moving forward.

EDUCATION CREDENTIALS
I earned my B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Lafayette College, a M.S. in Teaching Science from Portland State University, and a M.S. in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I have also completed Levels 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as Brainspotting levels 1 and 2. I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, R9680, and I am supervised by Stephanie Steed, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon T2566, Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
