Amber Caldera
Clinical Social Work Associate, Intern

Following my own journey working through childhood trauma, I made it a goal to closely study the effects of trauma on the human brain and body. I believe each person is unique and therefore I use different frameworks and lenses to meet the needs of my clients. I use an attachment and trauma informed lens, strengths-based, whole person approach, and look at the different systems in your life. I utilize various techniques including DBT, CBT, mindfulness and body work, and I have completed training in EMDR and use this modality to help my clients with their trauma.
I have over 6 years in the field, and I have worked with teens, families, and adults specifically around trauma and severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. I have worked closely with clients experiencing addiction, chronic pain, body image issues, LGBTQIA+, dissociative disorders, and self-harm.
I have a strong affinity and connection with those who have endured trauma and those who feel like outsiders. I believe one of the most important aspects when working together is rapport. I take great care in creating a safe space to be vulnerable and heard. I work with openness and equity towards all cultures, sexual orientations, and demographic backgrounds. I believe that the things we do are an expression of how we survived, doing the best that we could, and that we all have a deep strength inside of us that gives us the ability to keep going and keep fighting. Just because you suffered does not make you any less deserving of a balanced life. You are not broken! And you can find your voice and connection to the world. I am so glad you’re here. I’m honored in supporting and guiding clients through their own process of self-transformation. You show courage and a desire to change and it’s only fair for me to meet you with my full self. Here, you can feel safe to open and uncurl like a fern.
I welcome the opportunity to work beside you in your life journey. I believe that you are more than good enough, you are lovable, and you have unique gifts to offer the world.
