I believe that everyone has not just one, but multiple, stories of who they are. At the end of our time together, my goal is for you to feel as comfortable with, and in control of, your own story as possible.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, originally from Georgia. I believe that everyone has the right to be heard, to heal, and to determine their own story. I work with clients with the understanding that they are the expert in their own lives and know which goals are the most authentic to their own experience. To support the development of these goals, I support clients in examining strengths and barriers that exist in every level of life. Time spent with me is focused on strengths, values, and how to use those to achieve the solutions that work best for my clients. I firmly hold a non-judgmental stance, viewing all behaviors as making sense in the situations they arise from.
I primarily use Narrative and Solution Focused Therapies and have background in working with aging, immigration, gender transition in all stages of life, chronic and/or severe illness, and trauma recovery for individuals, couples, and families.
